Why Don't Christians Keep the Sabbath? 2-15-24

@rstrats look at Matther 28: 1. After the Sabbath , at dawn on the first day of the week" the first day of thr week is Sunday. And also inMark 16: 1. When the Sabbath was over ..... vs2 very early on the first day of thr week, just after sunrise.....vs 6 He has risen..

So we worship on Sunday, the Lord's Day in honor of His bodily resurrection.

Yes, that is what Sunday observers frequently use as a reason for observing the day.

BTW, you still have 2 questions directed to you in post #58.

Why Don't Christians Keep the Sabbath? 2-15-24
What endless and needless difficulties people get themselves into trying to keep a law which was only designed for the Jews in a limited locality. How contrary to the freedom and simplicity of the gospel!

The REAL Sabbath is far more than Church on Sundays.
It was also works-based.
B/c of such a drstic change after Jesus, then what we do now, should be part of our attitude as Christians.
Modest dress. Healthier eating, sleep, exercise; taking care of the body God made for us.
Giving to others. Helping the needy, sick, injured, elderly.
We are a minority in this sin-driven world.
It is us against Evil and the world not each other.

Jesus is our rest.
Any Christian or church can have its day of worship whenever they want BUT Sunday is largely the agreed day.
What about the people with such mobility and/or health problems who can't go to church?

Every day, I try to look up as much as I can to learn more and better about God and the Bible. I've posted videos by one of my favorite preachers.
I have a mindset of "What did Jesus do?" constantly especially at work and you can relate.

This has gone off topic.
In the end, what God said is top.

Jesus Christ is the Lord of The Sabbath. By us placing our faith in Him we live the Sabbath everyday.
On that, we know we are not saved nor better by actions (fruits).
When one has God in their lives, truly, then we want to:
Put Him first and on our minds at all times as best we can.
Go to church to worship, meet, and bond with fellow Christians.
Learn how to truly understand and read the Bible with other secular information.
Do as He commands us and the Bible is our instruction book.

And look back at post 63. Thank yiu

You said in post #74 - "And look back at 63."

You wrote in post #4:
"In the New Testament the Sabbath worship was changed to Sunday / the Lord's day to honor the resurrection of Jesus Christ."

In my post #55 I wrote:
"I'm not aware of any scripture which says that. What do you have in mind?"

In your post #66 you wrote:
"There is no specific scripture that states that."

In my post #58 I wrote:
"So why did you write: "In the New Testament the Sabbath worship was changed to Sunday"?"

Also, in your post #66 you wrote:
"And somewhere in scripture -- New Testament there is evidence of people bringing their tithes and offerings to the temple on Sunday."

In my post #58 I also wrote: "I'm not aware where scripture says that. What do you have in mind?"

In my post #62, I reminded you that you have 2 questions directed to you in post #58.
You responded in post #63, which I assumed was in reply to my questions in post #58. However, it didn't answer those questions.

In you post #65, you asked: "what are they?"

In my post #66 I wrote: "They're stated in post #58."

In your post #67 you wrote: " I already gave yiu the answer to that."

In my post #68 I wrote: "I believe you think that, but you haven't."

In your post #70 you responded: "Then I guess you'll just have to be satisfied with what I've already shared."

From there it'll be just going around in circles, which MedicBravo noted correctly is off topic. My applogies MB.

The commandment says to rest on the 7th day. So, what things did you use to do on the other days of the week that you are no longer doing on those days?
Rest includes more than not doing work.
Rest includes being more at peace and less stress. When God is first in one's life then your perspective changes and if it hasn't, subjectively people need to do a retrospect.
I don't wait for Sunday to rest and praise God or read and study the Bible.
I do it daily and sometimes I don't.
The desire to go to church is what is relevant rather than the "act of going = saved and better than those who can't or don't".
