You have to confess and repent of your sins to get saved or you won't get saved. If you don't know what your sins are then you need to examine your life and figure out how you are admitting you are a sinner but don't even know what your sins are. If you don't know what your sins are then what are you sorry for doing? If you don't know what your sins are then what are you telling Jesus you are dying to?
You go against the Word of God who says repent of your sins or perish.
Tired of copying and pasting scripture that you are not reading; Look it up; John 3:7-16 What did Jesus say on how we are born again?
You don't make sense. How would anyone repent from sins without coming to and believing in Jesus? I am talking about a person who comes to Jesus to be saved.
You think ALL drug addicts like ruining their own lives and stealing from their loved ones to do their habit? Some have tried to quit on their own.
There is one such testimony right now from another thread. Quoting it below;
One thing I have personally learned is that being able to stop a certain sin, (such as Drug use) on our own power and self-discipline is NOT the same as being set free from the sin with Jesus in control.
I remember when I would quit using drugs on my own I was still in bondage and miserable dreamed about the drugs and had to fight it off all day. I had lunch a while back with a friend who has been clean for 20 years from a heavy drugging lifestyle, and he told me he had to fight the addiction every day.
Well now I no longer use drugs and Jesus has set me free, I do not have to fight the urge, Jesus has taken the urge away from me.
So to me, being set free is when Jesus changes our hearts and we want to please him instead of satisfying the desires of the flesh.
So now you know what Jesus can do for any sinner and that is to deliver them from their sins of those sins they could not repent of from their own effort.
Again, you speak against the truth, for I say what Jesus says and that is to come to him for forgiveness of sins to be saved and reconciled to God, to be a child of His.
You are the one who is hindering people from being saved and even stopping people from ever getting saved and knowing God.
You say we are not to repent of our sins to get saved.
I say for salvation, repent from unbelief by believing in Him is how HE said we are saved. Then we are to believe in Him that He will help us to follow Him by living a life of repentance now that He is in us to enable us to.
Give one scripture that says to repent of unbelief.
You will not see it but here goes with he one you keep using but misapplying and another scripture that backs up my application of it as being rightly divided as the truth.
Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. <------ Note what these sinning Jews were guilty of.
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? <-----They were pricked in their hearts for crucifying Jesus in unbelief.
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. <---- Repent from unbelief of what they had done to get remission of sins.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. <----- Untoward is applied as not coming to Jesus Christ to believe in Him for salvation.
Now the key here is to discern how they get that remission of sins; by water baptism or by repenting from unbelief by believing in Him. Now before you write me off see what Peter said to the Gentiles.
Acts 10:43 To him give all the prophets witness,
that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. See? By believing in Him is the remission of sins. Therefore repenting from unbelief by believing in Him is what that call of rpeentance is about that you keep misapplying as repent from all sins.
44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
<---- by the words they heard that by believing in Him is how they got the remission of sins, they got born again of the Spirit.
You preach against what the Word of God says.
It is a shame what you are doing.
Actually, you are misapplying His words while ignoring the plain words spoken on how we are born again of the Spirit by believing in Him to be saved; John 3:15-16 & John 6:39-40
You do keep saying we are not to repent of our sins to get saved and to stay saved.
Because it would not be by the grace of God if it was how you say we are saved.
No scripture anywhere says what you say, but you go against what is said.
Only God can help you see the truth in His words.
This is another prime example for why believers are not taking His warnings in the OP to heart,
@PloughBoy because they think they are abiding in Him when they are not. That is why many will not be ready when He comes.
