Why Jesus could not condemn the Woman who was caught in the very act of adultery?

You know your Bible. Please do not be a want to be Biblical Scholar like many and don’t pay the cost., bible introduction class 101. Let’s us not feed the children if we do, they will never leave home. Like the sermons of long ago; “The Eagle Stirs The Nest”

And you know where The “Biblical Text” is taken from. They will not grow up! And they will have a fine taste for the flavor of “Regurgitation”.

There is a cost to be paid for a disciple of Christ. :pensive:
says the smug, mediocre narcissist, on the way to the morgue from living after the flesh.
you should take your dead religion, which you got out of a cereal box, and burn it,
but it's all you have

Yep, but the text states Emphatically why they approach “Jesus” with The woman caught in the act. The woman didn’t mean anything.

4they *said to Him, “Teacher, thiswoman has been caught in the very act of committing adultery.5Now in the Law, Mosescommanded us to stone suchwomen; what then do You say?”6Now they were saying this to testHim, so that they might havegrounds for accusing Him”

We must remember Jesus walked and lived under The Old Covenant! And Scripture cannot be broken. “And GOD cannot lie and GOD cannot deny Himself”

For many cannot chew that meat! For Jesus is also a “Stumbling Stone” and a “Rock of Offense” :pensive:
Jesus came to give a NEW COVENANT/NEW TESTAMENT.

r/TrueChristian - Thoughts on the likely hood of John 8:1-7 being mistranslations

deut17
2 If a man or woman living among you in one of the towns the Lord gives you is found doing evil in the eyes of the Lord your God in violation of his covenant, 3 and contrary to my command has worshiped other gods, bowing down to them or to the sun or the moon or the stars in the sky, 4 and this has been brought to your attention, then you must investigate it thoroughly. If it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done in Israel, 5 take the man or woman who has done this evil deed to your city gate and stone that person to death. 6 On the testimony of two or three witnesses a person is to be put to death, but no one is to be put to death on the testimony of only one witness. 7 The hands of the witnesses must be the first in putting that person to death, and then the hands of all the people. You must purge the evil from among you.

now, with regard to what i said about the two witnesses being required to have tried to prevent the sin. this isn't in the "bible"
but it is in the "case law" that they followed. the jews have the longest case law history books in the world. fills up two sets of encyclopedias.

Jesus appears to uphold it when he says "the scribes and the pharisees sit on Moses' seat, therefore you must obey them but do not do what they do for they are hypocrits"

have you picked out your coffin yet? or will you be cremated?
those living after the flesh will die, so you should be a good steward and be prepared.

You said the first one who hadn't sinned can throw the first stone.
That is what you should prove with scripture.

Jesus came to make a New Covenant, and he gave us new rules.

He was teaching mercy for the New Covenant, and that there would be no more stoning to death for adultery.

There is another passage where he teaches we can work and prepare food on the Sabbath and no more put to death for doing it.

Other changes he made for the New Covenant is no more eye for eye and tooth for tooth, etc.
Jesus appears to uphold it when he says "the scribes and the pharisees sit on Moses' seat, therefore you must obey them but do not do what they do for they are hypocrits"
Sitting in Moses' seat is about upholding and enforcing the old law. Jesus told his disciples not to break the old law rules concerning the temple, because the Pharisees and teachers of the law would harm them for it.

they did not break the law in that particular case. what the rabbis did was put safeguards around the law so that you couldn't accidentally break it. this had become too onerous.

as for deut 17, what it means is that the witnesses who witnessed the sin that requires death.. were the ones to throw the first stone.

the idea is that Jesus directly quoted that verse when he said what he said. this gets miss translated and turned into an idea that it isn't: that only a sinless person can cast judgement. the context of deut 17 is that the sinless witness (the one who didn't sin) is the one who casts the first stone. not the sinless perfectionist who was snooping on someone in adultery.

Give the exact scripture and Bible translation that says what you say. You can't claim every Bible translation is wrong, or you then go against our having a trusted preserved book with God's written word.

Jesus was giving a new teaching.
He came to make a New Covenant.
God said He would make a New Covenant.

The woman 'caught' in the very act of adultery was being set up. Jesus Christ knew that. Where was the man who was with her? After all , it Does take two to commit adultery. And How was anybody going to know when she was going to actually be doing it in order To catch her. And He was being used Himself to see how He would react. She was the repentent one, the men certainly weren't.

Don't we need to confess the sin of choosing the forbidden knowledge of good and evil?

The Pharisees we're also only quoting half the deal because it's not just the woman that gets stoned but the man who also is caught. So if he was caught in the very Act of adultery then they already knew who the guy was to

Why would you say such a thing.

Is this something a Christian says or is taught to say.

It is for this very reason that the punishment from God will lay most heavily on the Christians. That they who have been given so much are so reluctant to share God's love and forgiveness.

have you picked out your coffin yet? or will you be cremated?
those living after the flesh will die, so you should be a good steward and be prepared.
You know it's really kind of funny, if you could see plowboy in the future you would sing a different tune.

I feel privileged to know him now

PS. Noun: “regurgitation” to be safe and not be mis-understood by some members.

2. Regurgitation: definition 2.
  1. 2.
the repetition of information without analysis or comprehension.
"regurgitation of this or any other textbook will cause your essays to be marked down"
Lol

The text Clarifies itself. It clarifies their intentions.
Pure exegesis, without an ounce of impurities.

5Now in the Law, Mosescommanded us to stone suchwomen; what then do You say?”6Now they were saying this to testHim, so that they might havegrounds foraccusing Him”

The woman was not the “Target”!

She was The Trap!

You cannot let those long dresses and hoods fool you! They didn’t have electric lights, back then, they had candle lights:eyes:
Low lightning, and they didn’t’ take off those hoods, only their eyes was showing!

And when you don’t want to hear the “TRUTH” on TalkJesus click the button! The “Mute” button!

But I will let you know:eyes:

“ ignorance will not be excuse“ That dog ain’t going to hunt” when Jesus Crack That Sky!:eyes: Or Blow That Horn!

And catch that second Boat out!:eyes:

You will have a seat on that one for sure!:worried: And it will be plenty of room on that one! Everybody will have a seat! No one, will be “left “Behind”:eyes:

Interesting “Bible event”

Genesis 38”
13When Tamar was told, “Your father-in-law is on his way to Timnah to shear his sheep,” 14she took off her widow’s clothes, covered herself with a veil to disguise herself, and then sat down at the entrance to Enaim, which is on the road to Timnah. For she saw that, though Shelah had now grown up, she had not been given to him as his wife.

15When Judah saw her, he thought she was a prostitute, for she had covered her face. 16Not realizing that she was his daughter-in-law, he went over to her by the roadside and said, “Come now, let me sleep with you.”

“And what will you give me to sleep with you?” she asked.

17“I’ll send you a young goat from my flock,” he said.

“Will you give me something as a pledge until you send it?” she asked.

18He said, “What pledge should I give you?”

“Your seal and its cord, and the staff in your hand,” she answered. So he gave them to her and slept with her, and she became pregnant by him. 19After she left, she took off her veil and put on her widow’s clothes again.

20Meanwhile Judah sent the young goat by his friend the Adullamite in order to get his pledge back from the woman, but he did not find her. 21He asked the men who lived there, “Where is the shrine prostitute who was beside the road at Enaim?”

“There hasn’t been any shrine prostitute here,” they said.:joy:

22So he went back to Judah and said, “I didn’t find her. Besides, the men who lived there and said, ‘There hasn’t been any shrine prostitute here.’ ”

Now honestly, do you think, he is the only one been trick!:eyes:

Jacob will tell you he got “Trick” Too!

Quietly Kept, I got “Trick” too! :worried: By “Holy Roller”!

Don't we need to confess the sin of choosing the forbidden knowledge of good and evil?
The work of repentance requires it.

The focus is the writing in the dust twice ignoring them the first time . It would seem writing their names the oldest to the youngest . showing their hearts are deceitful and desperately wicked as in who can know the works of its imaginations? The oldest as elders having more experience with the Old testament followed by the younger Like a thorn bush it pricked their conscience or deceitful heart.

Jerimiah 17: 9 -13 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool. A glorious high throne from the beginning is the place of our sanctuary. O Lord, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken the Lord, the fountain of living waters.

I dont know what Jesus wrote in the sand , but you are absolutely correct in saying, " the work of repenrence requires it "
