Can not know the Lord without Repentance??

I apologize if I offended you by replying. I just wanted to share we can overcome this.

Let's slow down here and not put the cart in front of the horse.

I said catches my eye.
Any movement around me catches my eye. In fact it has saved my life a few times.

Try this, I am walking down the side walk and some female steps out in front of me.
My Eye Catches that in the same way as it caught the guy running from the police.

If by any chance something further TRIES to get my attention and cause me to look - I simply do not. I move on and pray for her.

I don't give any room for the devil to work. he ain't got much to work with if you are praying for her and binding the strong holds.

You must understand we are not held accountable to any thought that comes onto our mind.

We are held accountable to what we do with them and how long we entertain the thought.

Not True !!
I know if I grab the hot pan off the fire I will get burned - I don't wait until I fill the burn to not hold on.

I don't wait until a sexual thought is present.
I simply AVOID that by CHOICE.

Hebrews 12:1
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us

One must learn to not give any ground unto the enemy.

Blessings to you
I am real surprised Brother. No offense but your answers do not address my questions.
Matthew 5:28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
My point would be: I don't know how old you are but, hopefully, you have a long life head of you. If you avoid the this type of lust, even for a second, for everyday, 24/7, the rest of your life...God Bless you, you must have the same perfection that @At Peace has!

I agree with Wired4 and AtPeace on this one. You don't have to stare at a woman. You don't have to think lustful thoughts.
You really don't. I used to do this. But I really don't anymore.
That's great..your winning one of the battles.

I know this is not addressed to me but I would like to answer this.

No Sir I do not.
If one catches my eye I right away turn my head and walk away. Lol found 20 dollar bill once looking the other way.

Scripture tells us to not let any sexual immorality be found in you. I won't even give a thought a chance. I worked hard and through Gods Grace I have not had to deal with that junk for many years.
Blessings

Praise the Lord Jim I love hearing about this type of victory, the last year the Lord has really really helped me with this also, if the flesh does overtake me for a second I focus on Jesus and the spirit comes in for victory, do have anything in particular that you focus on if you feel a weak moment coming on??

Brother @Born Again 2004
It totally answers your question.
I am 59 years old. I do not have any issues with Matthew 5:28.
I have not had to deal with that stuff for many, many years. Any born again believer can.

Look if you are struggling with this then you also can get past it but please don't think every man does.

Again the enemy will put thoughts in you. There is no sin there.
What you do with them is what matters.

A person who allows thoughts to linger and thinks on them is just playing games.

Blessings to you

Not really any more.
What got me there was just as fast as I caught my self I rebuked the thinking and said Lord I did it again and repented.

This was the same for learning to quickly forgive so NO aught could get a chance to take root. I did the same thing as above but totally forgave them even if they really had not done anything at the moment and thanked God for them and prayed for them.

I found myself praying a lot for them.

With the lust part, when satan would hit me, I rebuke this thought and cast it our For It Is Written let there be no sexual immorality found in me AND I have no place for it.

Before you know it, that strong hold is destroyed and it's like a pesky mosquito that you hear coming and smack it down.

Keep God's Word Active (speaking) and act on it. If you stumble and fall jump up and let God brush you off and keep moving forward. That's how men of God are developed.
Blessings to you

Look, I don't think every-man struggles with this. I have no way of knowing that you do or don't, I am not saying that at all. I was in an attempt to make a point with @ At Peace who repeatedly says he is with out sin, then you ( its your right) chimed in. Since you took it on yourself to do that, I was simply addressing the question to you. A now @ B-A-C might have taken offense.

None of you are understanding where I have been headed with this.
You have know me for a long time, I hope, by now, you know I love the Lord.
I started this, what are you thinking thing, to make a point with @ At Peace. Mr. At Peace says he does not and is not capable of sinning.
So, I will use what @ Wired 4 Fishen said above: " as fast as I catch myself"
I too have struggled with these thoughts and though I am not perfect, I think it is still a sin. I don't care how short you think this, rebuke it , and move on, it still was a sin.
Look at it this way, we all strive or wish to be like Jesus, what God calls perfect.....while he was on earth as a man did he have these thoughts, no matter how short, did these thoughts enter his mind. Better still, would they now? Perfection wouldn't be
"as fast as I can" . Whether you rebuke the Devil and win this battle each time, perfect would still be not to have these thoughts in the first place. We are talking about God's Realm! I am done this this line of reason, it has too many upset!

No offense but you are not understanding.
Scripture tells us to take all thoughts captive.

We are not in control of thoughts coming in us.
satan uses thoughts. he sends thoughts into you.

The thought is not sin in you unless you give it life or root.

Scripture says cast it out.
Its when you don't that it becomes sin.

This word perfect is tripping you up.

O.K., so you are fully man and you never, not ever, for one second look at another woman and think how endowed she is or maybe, for split second, fantasize about her.
I, a man, can see a woman and know she is beautiful or tall or fat.
I only fantasize about how different she would dress if she loved God.

The new mind I received at my rebirth overpowers facets of my past life that were unGodly.
Praise be to God.

No Paul begins Romans 8 in conclusion of Romans 8....with what do we do about condemnation when we sin...Romans 8:1......but I am sure you must distort this truth to support your theology /narrative....there is no condemnation if we are in Christ...condemnation from what...condemnation / consequences of sin.
You seem to think there is sin in Christ.
I know there isn't.
Sinners walk after the flesh instead of after the Spirit.

God has given you a revelation, it is called the Bible....you should try reading it sometime!
You know, in this book, I think it describes you...as Luke Warm.... God says it is better to be cold than Luke Warm. Many a professed Atheists have come into TJ....I think they would be classified as cold!.....why is it, that with all the individuals hear at TJ that disagree with you...I see not one person to agree!
Don't let the other posters hear you judging me, as it "sets them off".

If I could convince you that you could live without sin, would you?

You've got to learn to differentiate between temptation and sin.

I think the same exact way as this BA, and is a example of when I say I sin, the others have shed some good light on the subject, but what is really great is we all handle this issue the same way and we all get the same result we turn away from the issue and control our thoughts, some of us look at a differently and this may help keep us humble but we attack the temptation the same way I think that is great !!

this comes to mind
Romans 14:1-23
As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind.

As I said, you didn't understand what I was trying to say. I applaud all Brothers who fight the good fight...we are fully capable, with Jesus in us, to defeat the Devil on a daily basis. When I feel the Devil creep in, I just go back to that time when I was first saved and he goes away....I will attempt to put it another way: No matter how well we fight "the fight", none of us are perfect...not one...accept for the one who is in us!!!! Brother, I thought you knew me better than this!.... too much to expect through cyber space I guess....I'm done.

Actually while I don't agree on every single point, I do generally agree with many of the points made by our friend @At Peace . Even if he did stand completely alone on every point, would it mean he was wrong with God? Remember that God is not looking at the doctrines, but at the hearts. Calling a person lukewarm should be done seldom if ever. Who but God knows about another person? Also with God it is not the majority that makes a thing right or wrong.
