My view is simple: let the Holy Spirit guide a person, not man's own understanding based on his own experience and his own interpretation of the Word. All down to the Holy Spirit, assuming one is surrendered fully to Him.

Amen Chad, and this seems to be our (man's) biggest struggle, "surrendering fully" to HolySpirit

Insult to online churches or not it is true.
So its okay to insult a christian ministry ?

These forums are good for the exchange of information and debate.

Chad did not invest his time and money just for the sake of debate or for us to exchange information. I'm sorry if you found the mission statemate rubbish. Debates are not allowed in this site.

" About Talk Jesus
Talk Jesus is an online church, a body of believers that gather to fellowship, praise and worship our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, GOD Himself. It is not about debating Scripture for Scripture is the infallible Word of GOD. It is Truth from Almighty GOD, the Alpha and the Omega. The power of Scripture, aka Truth speaks for itself so there is no opinion of man or debate among them that may, could or shall disturb the Way of Truth.

Talk Jesus forums are not meant to be a replacement of your local church but a replacement of any online ungodly place that satan may lead you to. Talk Jesus is a site that has one main purpose; to Glorify GOD. Within that purpose comes preaching the Gospels, the Truth to the saved to build up their faith, the unsaved to reach their hearts with the love of Christ so that they may be saved by the grace of GOD through Jesus Christ. "

Can your virtual church baptize you, bury you, marry you, hug your neck and weep with you at a graveside or hospital bed?

I'm not sure if to laugh because its just absurd. With a silly question comes a silly answer, there will in the end be no point, so I'll skip that one.

where there are two or more Christian gathered in His name He is there but they are gathered bodily.

Are you saying, when I pray with friends (3way ) on the phone its useless because we are not there physically, I had no idea the Holy Spirit was limited. I'll just book a flight to her house.

Would He use this medium if He were here?Speculation either way is vain. He came in a time without technology and if technology was the way He wanted His church to operate He could have waited until now or He could have alluded to it somehow in Revelation or in one of the Apostle's writings. He did neither.

You're right speculation is vain.

My personal position is that people who refuse to work within a local body are troublemakers.
You are right, it is your position to have right to an opinion.

To do so and teach others so is to substitute the commandment of God for the commandment and tradition of men or heresy.

If the church down the street is failing, its not because people are logged on to talkJesus or any other site.
If the church down the street has no revival, its not because people are logged on to TalkJesus or any other site.
If the church down the street is not experiencing a break through is not because people are logged on to talkJesus or any other site.
If a church is not bearing fruit, why should I stand accountable because they're not a full body.

If I and others are using their gifts to edify others and bring them to God, the church should be thanking us not condemning us. Now people will be equipped when they find a church.

We can not blame the short comings of today's church because people are not going in, nor can we judge those who have not found a home church and choose to fellowship online.

Thank you for this response, it is how I feel about it too.

To say the least, I was shocked when I read Mavmins thread - I felt condemned and judged - if people don't truly love this is usually what we receive from them - no understanding.

I have grown and mature in faith quite a lot the past few months (and I haven't been to church) otherwise I would have been hurt, like I believe some have been, reading this.
I truly believe that Mavmin, you must apologise for your unloving words towards members of this forum who is depended on the fellowship here.

I don't know churches in other parts of the world but here they don't care about their members. Whether you are there or not, it makes no difference as long as they receive your tinth every month it's fine.
So - there is anyway nobody's shoulder, ear or whatever when you need it. My friend had real bad problems recently and the pastor of the church was too busy to see her??
At least members here on TJ will help when I ask for it - that's for sure.

THIS WORLD NEEDS LOVE AND UNDERSTANDING MORE THAN THINGS AND JUDGEMENTAL PEOPLE - IT IS BECAUSE OF THIS ATTITUDE OF JUDGING, THAT WE DON'T GO TO CHURCH.

With love.

Blessings!

I consider this church and that is final. If anyone has a problem with that, take it up with God!

Amen brother David. Agreed. GOD is not restricted to buildings and stained glass windows as brother jiggy stated before. GOD is everywhere, therefore He is out of time and space. We cannot restrict Him from being anywhere because of this factor, this truth.

Since when is being in person more effective in teaching and prayer for example, then being over the phone or online? Those religiously church-going believers have this mentality. The church building is a wonderful place to gather together in fellowship, but it is not some prerequisite to Salvation or even growth in our walk with Christ

"We are the building of God. (if indeed we are His) Jesus Christ Himself is the foundation beneath each one of us, and all that we are, or hope to be. (Ephesians 2:20). We are the Temple of God, by decree of His own will, sealed with His own blood. This temple is fashioned by His own hands, and He alone owns the deed, and has drawn up the blueprints. (I Corinthians 3:16,17). We live and move and have our being in HIM, and He needs no contractors, funding, or approval from city hall (the assembly of men) We are that City whose Builder and Maker is God, and we look forward to its completion (Hebrews 11:10). Jesus is building His Church, and He invites all to come to HIM!" - The Word of God

I wish the OP question was "Do you walk in the light"...so I would be able to answer yes, I have found I get lost very quickly when I don`t. We cant have the kind of fellowship He designed (note, thats not the kind of fellowship WE designed) with one another, no matter how many 'meetings' together we attend, if we don`t live in His light.

1Jn 1:6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth; but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

Amen to what you said here. If we do not walk in Spirit (Light = Jesus Christ), then we are not going to bear good fruits to the world or towards each other. Or barely any at least. When we do not walk in the Light, we are restraining the Holy Spirit from working through us and each other.

Always on sundays for the main service and sometimes Thursdays for bible study. Sometimes log in here TJ, above all always in His presence.:shade:

I go twice on sundays and once on saturdays for our youth group that is called Compassionate. I love my church!

"Don't go to the church - be the church"

I don't go to a 'church building' very often, but I'm kind of in a fellowship. The church group I was in a couple of years ago broke up (as a church but not totally as a fellowship). Me and my family are planning to start 'something new' though ...

2 times a week at our local assembly
Sundays and Wedensdays BUT also I have fellowship through out the week with family and other Christians.

I currently go once a week, but only because I am relatively new to the church and was feeling it out... I think I am going to start going to the Adult Bible Study early Sunday and Men's Group on Wednesday...

Ivoted "no" because you mean like go to where a lot of people go and listen to another man... a sinner most probably blabber his idea of what God is saying and doing... Then NO! but every time i open the Word of God... am I not in the Church where Jesus is preachin Truth to God's standard? Then YES!... I am there 7 days a week and as regular as daily activities would allow! Like right now! typing this i preach truth and Word.... Jesus is the only "body" and "church" I would like to go to! Love you all .... Cobus!
