Then lets get the truth out there. This industry that destroys the life inside the womb and ultimately the the surviving soul has one thing in mind. I posted before that industries like planned parenthood informs the mother to be that she is legally immancipated*meaning they dont need parental consent* because they are with child. therefore separating the girl from her mom and separating the girl from being a mom at the same time. The so called counselors at the facilities tell the girls that it would be better for them if they rid themselves of the situation (think of your family, think of your future). *they are trained to never say BABY* because that would humanize things. Well, then after the procedure is over they give the girls low dose birth control and defective condoms. They derive their book balances and future spreadsheets on predicting how many will come back. We need to at least make it so that the girls have equal information of what the consequences of the decision may be. They need to know the truth about their bodies and what has happened. I think we need strict regulation on what information is given to our children and how it is given. Let us all pray that the Lord opens the eyes of all involved in this massacre.

the only time i consider it if child will harm mother or insist means brother have sex with sister and sister pregant and dad have sex with daughter.

I've always been an emotional staunch anti-abortion person. Firstly I apologize to God if I've ever been judgmental in the past, and I avoid doing this now. I've never been raped or been in this situation before where I've had to make 'a decision'. I've always felt that all conceived children should be born. I've found it very easy to, but I no longer judge women who have had them now, as I may have done in the past. I now think we can offer women help in their situations, as I've heard other believers' advise. I've always loved babies however, and I get very upset and emotive about this issue of abortion, and I can easily become agitated with out of control opinions at any time. It's quite a hard topic isn't it.
God bless everybody.

ahh...incest. I did not think of that. Why do you say that incest is an exception to the rule? Just curious.

And for everyone else....is incest an exception, is abortion ok if it deals with incest? I would like to hear everyone's voice on this. :) God bless. -ashlee

I think that abortion is wrong no matter what happened. If you got raped then u could always give the baby up for adoption, which i think is wrong too but its not my choice.

Adoption can be a positive alternative.

Out of 50 million abortions in America, only 500,000 have been performed due to rape, incest or the life of the mother. That is just 1 percent of all abortions. 1% That is planed parenthoods statistics. So lets face it, baby killing is done for convenience, period. It all comes down to self.

Maybe this is an issue we would be better off deciding for ourselves what we would and will do in any of those scenarios, but not to decide for others. Maybe our place is to withhold judgement and practice that good old advice from Christ - love.

By using all these hypothetical situations and deciding what is right and wrong for the world, we are being judgmental even before anything real has happened. I guess people like to judge.

Maybe a better thing to ponder is how we could represent our loving and forgiving God if we were to meet someone in that situation. And stop bothering with all the hypothetical judgements. Make our ponderings match how we are instructed to behave in the Bible and practice ridding ourselves from the easy way out - judging and opinions. Try understanding instead.

It just seems like such a waste of time now. And perpetuates bad habits.

It's easy to sit around and talk all day about how wrong things are. What would Jesus do? How are we going to change anything? Even God doesn't control people. He gives everyone their choices and loves them and forgives them when they come around to repentance. Maybe we should all try a loving outreach to those women who are so lost that they resort to abortion. They don't understand the gift of life. How depressing is that? What would truly change a woman's mind about abortion? Not rules that we talk about amongst eachother, but actually reaching out and sharing God's transformation love by letting it shine through us in relationships with other people.

I'm like all of you - it hurts to think about the idea of abortion. It really bothers me, but what use is my opinion? All we do is puff ourselves up by confirming to ourselves that we have a superior morality. It's of no good use. It's a waste of time.

I did not know this. This is a open to my eyes. I am not aware about this topic. I knew people were doing these things due to rape or life situation but only 500k out of 50millions. There still alot of room left. People out there are creating life and then destroying because of image or other reason. Thanks for info!

Good point, dchena. Yet, this wasn't made to puff ourselves up by thinking that we have a "superior morality". First of all, this is a huge issue in politics right now (at least in the US) We should know where we stand and have a voice in our country. If we were to not speak of things amongst eachother, then we would be trying to block out every political idea.

I agree that we should be reaching out to these women. I work with an organization to encourage pregnant mothers and comfort those who have aborted their baby. We should never look down upon those who have made that choice. Yet, should aborting babies be illegal? That is why I was curious as to where Christians stand on this. I disagree with you there. We CAN speak of things amongst eachother, and it's great to see other's imput on it. As for your question, "what use is my opinon?" Well at least in the US right now, watch the news, Christians should have a voice too.

Yes, its great to reach out to those who have already made their choice, but how much better would it be if we could help prevent as many from taking place.

"Try understanding instead." & "I guess people like to judge" Tell me where in the Bible it says we can't judge what is right and wrong. We should put everything up against the Bible. We can judge the act and say it is wrong. We shouldn't judge the PERSON. The Bible says we are to test all things. That is what we are doing, it is a simple discussion. No need to say this is a waste of time, if you think so... don't respond. We dont need negativity in the comments, we need Christians strong and ready to defend what they believe.

Would you have the same opinion if the issue was slavery? Would you say
I don't believe slavery is right, but I'm not going to choose what's right for
others?

Well, there's really no question. It's not right. And abortion's not right. But what do we do about it? Go on and on about how it's not right? Doesn't seem productive to me.

BUT.... I can understand it being an issue with making the law, like in the states right now... didn't know about that...

AND... I get your points, and they're are well taken, thank you.

Didn't mean to be negative.... just careless on my part.
Thanks.

No worries sister. I do believe however that we should go on and on.
According to 4 different polls taken last month, the majority of Americans
are now pro-life. You can search this out on Google news.
Abortion is horrendous. We are in scripture told to defend the defenseless.
Thank God we live in a country where the laws can be changed by the will
of the people. The debate must go on, and never be extinguished. We must change the laws and stop the horrible slaughter of innocence.
Most important, we must continue to pray.
We cannot ever turn our backs to the 50 million children ( Some 9 months old) that have been destroyed. Thrown in a bucket with the other dead babies and discarded like so much trash. IMHO.

what a controversial topic.
i think some good points have been made here.
i guess we can have our opinions about abortion, but until you land up in a situation, like being raped, you can never be sure as to what you would do.
i personally believe that everything happens in Gods plan an i also hope that, heaven forbid, if i ever get raped and fall pregnant, i would keep the baby, how ever hard it may turn out to be.

If a woman got raped and became pregnant, think of the victory in Christ she would have by keeping that child. Loving that child. What a kick in satans face. To be able to show this child the love he/she would have never got from dad. To be raised up in the Lord. What a witness that would be to your family and friends.
What satan means for bad, God can make good.
