To me the only condition under which abortion is justified is when the mother's life is in grave danger; when it can be medically confirmed that there is a high probability that the she will die during delivery.

Unborn child.

This is the real issue at stake. Who represents the unborn child.

I am glad the mother of Jesus never had an abortion.

Priority belongs with the unborn person of course.

There are certain instances where it is "okay" for lack of a better term, ectopic pregnancy..rape..

there should be an "in certain instances" option I don't agree with it being used as birth control but I believe regardless it's the women and her baby's father's choice regardless if I feel its right or wrong.

Are you speaking of the legal right as established by the U.S. Supreme Court in Roe v Wade or the moral right? I don't believe that the legal right to abort makes it morally right.

Personally I believe that abortion is ALWAYS wrong even it was rape, but I am curious as to what others think. Please tell me why you believe what you believe.
Your body is not your own. And as someone else has stated, the baby is first priority.

You don't kill the baby -- you kill the rapist.

Abortion is always wrong. It is the murder of an innocent little baby. Yes, its a terrible thing if a woman is raped but don't kill the baby...he or she isn't responsible for what occured instead put the baby up for adoption there are families out there longing for a baby to love.

No matter what the case may be the baby is not a fault and to punish or take the life from this tiny person is to play God...He is the giver of Life and He alone decides when to call us home...its not up to we humans to do His job. Each baby is precious and God knows them and creates them in secret and knows all the day fashioned for them as even before they are born.

Babies are living whether before or after birth. while being carried in the womb they have heart beat and they move...they are precious llittle miracles and abortion is nothing
more than murder. We have laws that state it is illegal to kill or murder human beings but because these children aren't born there are no laws to protect or even state that killing them is illegal nooooo instead we have those who want to make it legal because they say its the woman's body and her right to choose...if it was a situation of rape no the woman didn't get to choose but if its a case where both parties were consenting then the choice was made then and there...the woman decided to have sex and then got pregnant therefore now she is under obligation to care for that baby...her body is not her own it is God's and that baby growing inside is also God's. Like I said earlier put that baby up for adoption but don't punish him or her for the mistakes that were made that are not the fault of the innocent babies.

Give God the Glory in It

Abortion is never ok. If someone is willing to reject life literally (in the natural), then that same root in the heart will lead to rejecting the supernatural...therefore leading to all sorts of ways of thinking, compromising, rejecting the Holy Spirit (like the Pharisees and Romans did with Jesus - rejecting the natural (they killed Jesus literally); and the supernatural - they refused to hear what the Spirit of God was saying through His own Son who represented God in the flesh).

God is very clear (Deut. 30:15, 19). God is for life because He is Life and He is the Creator of life. This is nothing but a root of rejection that causes one to commit such an act (as like the example of Jezebel in 1Kings 17-22). If you have not gotten rid of the root of rejection, than at one point it will and can cause one to reject someone else's life and even if they are a Christian...possibly one of their own brethren and Christ Himself (the Spirit of God)...pretty scary! Afterall, isn't one's life part of their inheritance, and isn't this what Jezebel stole from Naboth...an inheritance (it was his land, one of many blessings from God, or an inheritance like children are [Ps. 127:3; Ps. 139:13-16; John 16:21; Ps. 127:1-5; Mark 10:14; Isa. 8:18]?

The Lord can forgive those that have committed this act, but it's also important to seek deliverance of the root that caused it in one's heart (and this also entails those that are Christians that are willing to compromise on this issue...as it's not just an 'issue' to God the Father, but a life which is very important to Him). The world will say that there are circumstances that may be alright (rape...life at risk, etc.) but isn't this a lack of trust in God Almighty? There is a purpose for everything. For the one raped...He could create a child of God through that terrible incident that will save many lives, when the child grows up...and the one raped could be delivered by Jesus' saving Power of the Holy Spirit and become a testimony to those that have also gone through similar experiences. The one that has life threatening issues...perhaps the Lord may save the life in an impossible situation or may take one life to save many (sounds like the act of the cross, hugh?). There are many ways God's work can be portrayed in these matters, where the Lord gets the glory and no man, nor no works of the enemy...just God Almighty. Isn't this what we are all called to do...give God the glory in all things (1 Cor. 6:19-20)?

What a way to testify of Himself. We never know what God can do with a situation, unless we allow Him to be God, and reveal to us His love. More than likely when others fall into this trap of the enemy (Matt. 13:24-28, this is darnel that has crept in); allowing one to think there is a reason to end someone else's life by their own doing, than it's probably because they have not had the chance to experience the true Power of God...that same Power of God that overcame death on the cross...Jesus Christ (1Cor. 1:24).

God is all powerful and He deserves to portray it through any life He chooses and however He chooses (Ps. 115:3).

Other Scriptures to remember in pondering all this: John 10:10; 1 Pet. 5:8; John 15:18; 2 Cor. 12:9; 1 John 1:1-10; 1 Cor. 2:14

To God the Father in heaven and His Son Jesus be the glory!

Abortion is never ok according to God

j-sp - I agree. Abortion is murder regardless. There are people begging for little babies that would give it the best of love and blessings.

Agreed. I'm guessing that cultivating an attitude of dehumanizing the unborn child (or even born child) can lead to abortion, disregarding the human-ness of the baby, or abuse.
I recently began to think of animal rights (- and I love animals, as well as babies!) and how animal rights might be considered by one individual person to be more important than their view regarding the rights of the unborn child...

It's not about "revenge" or "repaying evil for evil."

Scripture says if a man rapes a betrothed (married) woman, then he was to be executed (Deuteronomy 22:25-27). A man must not rape a betrothed woman (Deuteronomy 22:25-27). This falls under the penalty of adultery, and the man was executed, but the woman was blameless (Leviticus 18:20; Leviticus 20:10).

However, there is nothing in scripture that says a man was to be executed for raping an unmarried woman! Deuteronomy 22:25-27 does not say, “But if a man find a damsel in the field,” which would refer to any and all women. No, it explicitly limits it to only women who were a wife. Does this mean there were no consequences to raping a woman just because she was not married? Of course not.

For a rape to occur, there must be a “stealing” of her, or, a kidnapping. And under God's Law, stealing and kidnapping were punishable by the shedding of blood (Exodus 21:16, Deuteronomy 24:7, 1 Timothy 1:10, Revelation 18:13). However, if a man was punished for raping an unmarried woman, it was not for the crime of adultery (which is a sexual act), but for a different crime.
