Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ Jesus,
Not choosing sides mind you, though some might thing so!
Have any of you thought to take these celebrations as opportunities?
It's kind of like receiving junk mail. Do you just throw it away, or if they have return envelopes is it possible that they could be put to good use?
There are so many for us to evangelize, to get the Gospel out to those in need. It's not just mouth to ear so to speak, which surely is the preferred method. However, I know how challenging that can be! The enemy is quick to challenge one on their capabilities or lack thereof to actually do the task. In some cases, unless one allows the Spirit to take over you can find yourself out of depth when the opportunity arises!
Still, you shouldn't be without a way to still communicate the Word of God in a way that can be fruitful!
I mentioned return envelopes. Has anyone thought to put tracs inside of them? Sometimes churches will even provide them to you, so that it won't be a cost, and most of the time the envelopes themselves don't require stamps!!!
Now the same can be done, even though cost might be a consideration for some. Think of the need of that person or their family. I've given Bibles to people at work on their Birthday! For some it might be knowing they or their family are in need of clothes. Perfect opportunity to help them out without it affecting their pride (big one for men) which might be the case if done outside of these occasions!
So, whether you agree with these holidays/traditions or not look at them through a different lens. See a little clearer in what God has provided to you in this situation, and how you might increase the Kingdom of God!!! Planting seeds is great!!!
Because whether you celebrate these days or not, they will still go on in the World. They will still happen. So, maybe taking advantage of them to reach those who maybe only show up at church on these special occasions or other days to spread the Word, might make change a life from death to life! Try and make them useful.
Now for the joke!!!
In a small town there was a poor Christian old lady. She was always asking God to bring her groceries.
One day her not so Christian neighbor who used to hear her pray went out and secretly bought the lady groceries.
Hiding behind a bush so he could see her reaction.
The old Christian Lady saw the groceries at her door. She rejoiced and began jumping up and down praising God for them!!!
The neighbor who was fed up with all this Christian stuff, jumped out from behind some bushes and told the old lady that God did not bring her the groceries he did!
She looked at him and shouted even louder, saying thank-you God for bringing me the groceries and making the devil pay for them!!!
Have a blessed day my Brothers & Sisters!
With the Love of Christ Jesus.
