Abortion

remember abortion is a sin like all others, condem it, and you condem yourselves, if you want to pass judgment on this then cast yourself down as a prostitute, live the life, then, and only then will you see that even your strenght is a mile higher than the bottom and you cant ansaw for those, these people wont be judged, you will. dont play games you dont understand the rules of.

if it was a christian, God would lead that person what ever measure they take. But if it was not a christian, I dont know, it is hard. Many cases like these come to the hospital, ectopic implantations and induced abortion and christian doctors are put in dilemma.

Christian or non-Christian, abortion (except to save the life of the mother) is murder and, therefore, is sin. The issue is simple. What is tough is having the courage to do what is right under God's Law, even if we have to suffer consequences at the hand of family, friends, employers, etc.

"Then Jesus said to His disciples, 'If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.'" (Mt 16:24)

What if one of your friends or family members were raped? How can you justify that pregnancy? I am asking honestly these are not loaded questions on my end.

Hi cjl,
I look at it this way. Person A attacks me and injures me. You live at person A's house so I kill you because he attacked me.

It cannot be called right to kill the child because of the sin of the rapist.
Rape itself doesn't even come with a death penalty in North America, but we have no problem killing a child over it.

I think that God looks out for all his children, even when they are aborted they are with Him in heaven. I didn't really know the nature or the extent of what God felt on abortion.

Not just about the baby...

It shouldn't be just about saving the baby, but thats the focus of many. What about the woman thats had an abortion? Chances are, she is dying inside. She feels guilt and shame and hides her secret. Chances are she feels completely alone. Chances are she's afraid to share her secret because she will face critisism and judgement, and even more so from the people claiming to be christians and church goers.

Women have abortions for a whole host of reasons....it doesn't make it right, but its something you will never truly understand until you've faced an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. Women have abortions because the man involved forces them to. Women have abortions because of fear and the unknown. Women have abortions because to them at that moment, that is the only way to protect her baby from an abusive father. Women have abortions because of certain people in their lives.

I agree abortion isn't right, but don't judge the woman that has had one, or two, or three, or four, or more abortions. Love and accept her and help her get to the point of where god wants her to be. Help her to learn to accept god's forgiveness and learn to forgive herself. Chances are, she hates herself for the decisions she's made. She doesn't need your judgement and critical spirit to add to that.

You don't have to understand to be able to listen, love, and accept. We all have skeletons in our closets if we are totally honest with ourselves. No one is better than another. No one is better than another just because they say "I would never have an abortion". Aren't we all sinners and since jesus died for sinners, then we are all the same in god's eyes right? No matter if you've had 10 abortions or if you've stolen from your employer or if you've told a lie trying to protect a friend or for any other reason. We are all the same....sinners.

One in 3 women will have an abortion by the time she is 45 yrs old. So that means that pretty much everyone is affected by abortion, even though you may not know someone thats had one. You prolly know someone thats had an abortion, but she is too afraid to tell you. These women are sitting next to you in YOUR church, they are your co-workers, your siblings, your cousins, your friends. How are you going to respond when/if they share their deep dark secret with YOU? Yes a baby died with an abortion, but so did the woman that had it done. The baby you can't bring back, but the woman can be if you love her with the love of Jesus.

yes.

I agree with those saying that abortion is wrong. It is. BUT let's not forget there are more than just the baby at hand here. There's the baby, the woman, the man, their familes, their friends. This is not a simple thing. Yes, abortion is WRONG. No matter how you see it...whether the baby was conceived by rape, incest, or otherwise...aborting the baby is wrong. This is an emotionally high issue.

What about the baby? What about the woman? What about the man? Have we been listening? Could be the man doesn't want his girlfriend to have the abortion, but she does...then what?

Once something is done, Jesus can pick the pieces up. Jesus is the Savior...not me. Jesus can change lives...if we let him. That is the key. Taking the hand of those who are in need...who are suffering and leading them to Jesus.

Take my hand...my friend. I know where you can get what you need. He is the Great Physician. He is the Healer. He will make everything okay. Just reach out your hand...and he'll carry you. Let Jesus do what he is the best at doing. Let Jesus fix them.

You are right.

God is a God of Mercy to those who have fallen into the sin of murder through abortion.

However, it is human pride that keeps them from turning to Jesus to have that sin covered over and wiped away by the Blood.

Love the sinner, Hate the sin, Say the truth, i always say.

Its human pride that keeps anyone from turning to Jesus to have any sin covered over and wiped away by the blood. Not just abortion. Abortion is the same as any other sin to god. Sin is sin and whether you've had 10 abortions or just stole a cookie out of the cookie jar, you need a savior. Don't judge someone just because they've had an abortion. You aren't any better than them just because you haven't had one, if you haven't.

can you claim to be a christian and commit murder?abortion is murder.it's as simple as that, and it beats me how anyone could think otherwise.

Many people today consider abortion to be a woman's right to control her body—specifically her reproductive rights. Reflecting this perspective, many countries around the world permit abortion. Yet there is also much dissent over this supposedly enlightened practice.

In the United States, the U.S. Supreme Court's 1973 Roe v. Wade decision sparked a huge controversy. No issue since slavery has so divided the people of the United States. The two opposing views on this issue are generally called "pro-life," meaning those who support the rights of the unborn, and "pro-choice," for those who say a woman should have control over her own body, even if it means terminating the life of the unborn.

Many who favor allowing abortion have argued that abortions should be safe, legal and rare. Yet statistics show they are anything but rare. In the United States alone, some 3,700 babies are aborted every day, amounting to over 1.3 million per year and more than 45 million since the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its decision. Statistics also say that 93 percent of abortions occur not because of serious potential health problems or rape or incest (a primary reason "pro-choice" advocates give for abortion), but because of social factors. The child is either unwanted or inconvenient.

The biggest area of debate in the abortion question hinges on when life begins. Those who favor abortion argue that it doesn't begin until birth or sometime near then, when the child could be viable on his or her own. Others point out that at the moment of conception a unique genetic package comes into existence that contains everything that person will become—from height, size of feet and color of eyes, to intelligence and basic personality.

While the Bible does not mention the word abortion, there are indications that God views the unborn as individuals. He told the prophet Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1:5). God indicates He knew Jeremiah as a person and designated him for a special job extremely early in the gestation period. This passage certainly implies personhood for the unborn, and God expressly forbids murder in the Sixth Commandment.

Additionally, Job said this about other people: "Did not He who made me in the womb make them? Did not the same One fashion us in the womb?" (Job 31:15). Job understood God to be at work in the process of human development in the womb.

God views human life as very valuable and the verses above indicate He views life as beginning at conception. So while He doesn't mention the modern issue of abortion in the Bible by name, these and other passages indicate that God would label abortion as a sin.

The land that once flowed with milk and honey is filled to the brim and overflowing with the blood of its children. It is too late to repent of this abomination.

Isa 26:20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until the fury has passed by.
Isa 26:21 For behold, the LORD is coming out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it, and will no more cover its slain.

Coconut,
It isn't too late to repent of an abortion or any other sin. God loves the people that have them as well as the people that perform them just as he loves every other person with any other "skeleton in his closet". Until Jesus comes back or a person is dead, it is never too late to repent of a sin.

Abortion is murder, plain and simple. All of the early Church fathers were against abortion.

"The second commandment of the teaching: You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not seduce boys. You shall not commit fornication. You shall not steal. You shall not practice magic. You shall not use potions. You shall not procure [an] abortion, nor destroy a newborn child" (Didache 2:1–2 [A.D. 70]).

"The way of light, then, is as follows. If anyone desires to travel to the appointed place, he must be zealous in his works. The knowledge, therefore, which is given to us for the purpose of walking in this way, is the following. . . . Thou shalt not slay the child by procuring abortion; nor, again, shalt thou destroy it after it is born" (Letter of Barnabas 19 [A.D. 74]).

"And near that place I saw another strait place . . . and there sat women. . . . And over against them many children who were born to them out of due time sat crying. And there came forth from them rays of fire and smote the women in the eyes. And these were the accursed who conceived and caused abortion" (The Apocalypse of Peter 25 [A.D. 137]).

"What man of sound mind, therefore, will affirm, while such is our character, that we are murderers?
. . . [W]hen we say that those women who use drugs to bring on abortion commit murder, and will have to give an account to God for the abortion, on what principle should we commit murder? For it does not belong to the same person to regard the very fetus in the womb as a created being, and therefore an object of God’s care, and when it has passed into life, to kill it; and not to expose an infant, because those who expose them are chargeable with child-murder, and on the other hand, when it has been reared to destroy it" (A Plea for the Christians 35 [A.D. 177]).

Abortion is wrong, sure. But it isn't any worse than any other sin....murder, homosexuality, lying, laziness, glutny, cheating, whatever. To God, its all the same. Sin is sin. All was paid for when Jesus died on the cross.

The Bible does not mention the word "abortion" even one single time. Therefore, it is an error to assume that the Bible says anything about abortion. And we know that the word "abortion" existed back then because it is used in the Didache which was written at around the same time as the New Testament. Therefore, I truly believe that if God really wanted to condemn abortion, He would have done so in the New Testament at least and He did not do so.

The word "abortion" is not in the bible, but the words murder, kill, are. That is what abortion is. It is murdering a life that God created. God is the creator of life and He is the one to decide the end of life. Instead, humans stick their hands in the middle of it and screw it all up. But God still loves us no matter where we've been, what we've done, or what our future holds.

I know a lot of people are into the marches or standing outside government buildings and all...and sure, that definantly has its place. But as far as the women are concerned, I think it would do more good to go to the woman thats had an abortion or to the woman that is considering it, and walk with them in their shoes. Love them and help them through whichever path they are on. Love them to Jesus. But don't condemn them either.

Too many people are more concerned about saving the babies than about reaching the mothers and fathers. If you reach the parents first, abortion wouldn't happen.

If Jesus walked the earth as a human in today's world, I believe He would go to the bars and the places where the rejected are at. I think He would even go to abortion clinics just to reach out to a woman and love her. I believe He would find the prostitutes and the homosexuals, the murderers, the sex offenders and He would love them. <style type="text/css">rgin-bottom: 0.08in } --> </style> There is no difference between gossip and murder to God. Sin is sin to Him. And none of us ever have any business to judge another human being.

I believe just as people will be rewarded in heaven for the people they introduced to Christ, there will also be people judged for the people they turned away from God because of how they came across and how they presented Christ. I also believe that if the people that call themselves a Christian were really who Christ intended them to be, they would be willing to love and go to the rejected of today's world, instead of waiting and expecting the rejected to find them. I believe today's world would be vastly different if that were truly the case.

Sorry, kind of went off on a rabbit trail.

Yes, abortion is the killing of a potential person. It is the killing of a human life form. However, it is not murder. In order for you to prove that it is murder, you will first have to prove that the zygote is a person.
